Hell to Pay
Somewhere in between the “Hammer Lane” and “Road to Damnation” storyline in a town called Lynchburg Tennessee, officer Arvis was rounding up drifters around town all evening because of an incident at a bar. Near a field behind the bushes, he found Johnny Blaze unconscious on the floor. Un-caring, he enforced brutal forced on Johnny and brought him in to the precinct. Locked Johnny into a cell where Clay was already being held.
The next morning Arvis let Johnny and Clay go free, met up with district attorney James Strahorn at his office. Strahorn gave Arvis a hard time for not being able to keep Johnny locked up, he insisted that Arvis use any means to keep Johnny away from Clay and Bedelstraum. Which he wasn’t able to do even after hitting him with a rod or hitting him with his police car.
